Yelena York Tonoyan
Yelena York is an Armenian-American Artist living in Los Angeles. Her extensive background in graphic design and photography easily led her to a career in fine art and interior design. Her impressive collections of fine art and mixed media pieces are comprised of a breathtaking spectrum of colors, 22 karat gold and silver leafing.
Greis & Schiefer is proud to offer you a total of six stunning artworks from the LA based artist.
Her paintings take up to four months to be completed. Each is done completely free hand style on canvas or paper with no initial sketch work. Her meticulous pen drawings leave no room for error, each finished to precision.
To create her pen and ink illustrations York uses the technique of pointillism requiring extreme attention to detail. A true perfectionist at heart, York brings her magical energy and impeccable form to each piece that can only be admired with awe and appreciated for its own excellence.
Best known for her large format work using acrylic paint and copic markers, Yelena takes the onlooker on a journey into the exploration of wealth with her detailed pen works and clever cast of animal characters in luxurious settings. She brings each creature to life almost effortlessly through traditional ink on paper, from beautiful original symbolism to ink pointillism. York recently won the prize for the “Best Artist in Oxford International Art Fair 2015" and her acrylic painting “Luck” showing an elephant was the winner of the Best of Acrylics 2014 book.
