"Dull", Agata Czeremuszkin-Chrut, Oil on Canvas, 150x150cm, 2012, 1700€

Born in 1983 (Czestochowa, Poland) Agata Czeremuszkin-Chrut graduated from the Academy of the Fine Arts in Wroclaw in 2008 with a Master degree in Painting. Currently she continues pursues her PHD studies at The Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland.

Agata lives in Warsaw, Poland and works as a painter and muralist. Moreover she operates a Studio in Berlin, Germany and has participated in several art events across Europe and North America. Her paintings can be found in many private and public art collections in the USA, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Austria, Australia and Poland. She is a member of The Society of Polish Artists and Designers (ZPAP).

Her artworks often are the result of observation and fascination with the biological processes as well as those aspects that are carnal, nonaesthetic and common among all living organisms.

The concept of Czeremuszkin-Chrut art is based on the contrast between the organic and the technical. Everything organic, even if beautiful, is generally perceived as bilious, nonaesthetic, and irritating. Living organisms: plants, animals, and finally the human - are subject to biological processes like rotting and decay. The slow process of decay follows every period of growth. After all, nothing is permanent. Agata Czeremuszkin-Chrut is fascinated by the contrast between those two worlds, which are seemingly disjunctive yet existing so close to each other - biology and physicality against modernity, the city, and the cold spaces of industrial, post-factory halls or dehumanized interiors against life. Her artworks reflect this fascination and instantly catch the viewer’s attention and heart.

Greis & Schiefer is proud to present a selection of her artworks in the exhibition starting 1st of July 2016.
